For this card I have chosen to use the Give It a Whirl dies from the annual catalogue showcasing the versatility of the Penguin Playmates bundle and FREE Designer Series Paper. I have picked up a few tips from other demonstrators which I would like to share.
To allow enough space for the wheel to turn nicely use two circles with a square from the foam sheets in the middle to elevate the wheel. Then add pieces of foam sheets to each corner of your front panel making sure the wheel is still able to turn easily.
I have decorated my card using the FREE Penguin Playmates Designer Series Paper from the current Sale a Bration brochure. Available until the end of September while supplies last. I have "fussy cut" the penguin, snowman and fox before adhering it to the front of the card using dimensionals. To make the front panel of the card stronger I have cut a second panel in Basic White and adhered this to the DSP before die-cutting the window. I have used the sentiments and decorative stamps from the Penguin Place stamp set.
On the back of the card I have again used Balmy Blue Cardstock this time stamping the Happy Birthday sentiment and gifts in the corner of the card. For the smaller panels I have decorated these with another design from the Designer Series Paper using the reverse (less busy) side for balance.
A tip I gained from watching other demonstrators that I would like to share is using the DSP as your column which you build your card from.
Today's card showcases again the beautiful Simply Elegant Suite as I continue to show you how versatile it can be. This is a great suite for beginners as it includes the Elegant Tag Punch in the bundle with the Elegantly Said stamp set.
This was one of my cards we made in class this month. Please go to the Classes section on my blog to find out details of future classes.
I love fun folds so I decided to make this angled Zig-Zag card and decorate it using this month's suite of the month, the Simply Elegant Suite. I particularly love the Specialty Designer Series Paper in this suite with its copper, silver and gold hues and the reverse side with its grey, vanilla and black hues. It really is just so elegant!!
The Angled Zig-Zag fold also allows you to enjoy both sides of the DSP and the Simply Elegant Trim which come in either gold or silver bringing the whole card together nicely. I could not decide on what bling to add when I first decorated this card as there were two great options I was deciding between, they are Matte Black Dots or the Gilded Gems.
For June I have chosen the beautiful and elegant Simply Elegant Suite. Its combine neutral tones with gold, silver and copper making it a wonderful suite to use for wedding or birthday cards. For my first card showcasing this suite I have made a wedding card.
I wanted to try out this new pocket layout and thought it would go nicely as a wedding card. Here I have used the Simply Elegant Specialty Designer Series Paper to make the pocket. I love the gold and grey combination. I have used the Elegant Tag punch to stamp my sentiment on.

For my May Team Creative Challenge I have made an Angled Z-Fold card using this month's Suite of the Month, the Hand Penned Suite. I wanted to make this into a Mother's Day card for my mum who is away on holiday at the moment. I love the soft colours and beautiful floral images in this suite.
Your panel pieces will all need to be cut the same at 3 1/2" x 5 5/8". I have cut one in Basic White, as my inside panel which i will be stamping on, and two pieces of Hand-Penned Designer Series Paper. For the DSP you will need to cut it at an angle to match the shape of the card. To do this you will need to make a pencil mark 1 7/8" down from the top right hand side of your DSP then cut from that pencil mark to the top of the left hand side. You will be left with a triangle that you can use to decorate the front of the card. One will fit on the front of the card, turn the 2nd piece over and this will then fit on the inside of your card.
To decorate the front of the card I have stamped larger floral image from the Hand-Penned Floral stamp set in memento black. I have used the solid images to 'colour' in the flowers and leaves. I have used Petal Pink, Highland Heather, Pale Papaya and Mint Macaron Stampin Pads. I have then die cut the floral image out using the outline die from the Penned Flowers dies. I have also die cut the outline of the flowers in Basic White and adhered this on top of my stamped image. I have then stamped the sentiment from the Dressed to Impress Stamp set and die cut using the Scalloped Contour dies.
Stamp the Basic White piece using the smaller floral image from the Hand-Penned Floral stamp set. I have used memento black ink for the floral outline and then using the solid images to 'colour' the flowers and leaves. I have used Highland Heather, Pale Papaya and Mint Macaron Stampin Pads. And don't forget to add some bling to the front of your card. I have used the Genial Gems from the suite.
