This month I would like to showcase the Penguin Playmates bundle from the new July-December Mini Catalogue and coordinating Designer Series Paper from the Sale a Bration brochure. If you would like to know more about Sale a Bration read about this here.
For my first card of the month I have chosen to make a column or tower card. I have used the new Penguin Playmates bundle and coordinating DSP to decorate this adorable card. This can be used as a children's birthday card, which is what I have done or a great Christmas card for those in the northern hemisphere.
When standing this card is interactive giving you four panels to look at. When lying flat it fits into a standard envelope and lies flat perfect for postage. I have used a combination of cardstock and DSP to decorate the four larger panels alternating each. On the front I have decorated with Balmy Blue cardstock and then stamped and punched out the Penguin using the stamps from the Penguin Place stamp set and Penguin Builder punch. I have then decorated the Penguin using more of the stamps.
On the back of the card I have again used Balmy Blue Cardstock this time stamping the Happy Birthday sentiment and gifts in the corner of the card. For the smaller panels I have decorated these with another design from the Designer Series Paper using the reverse (less busy) side for balance.
A tip I gained from watching other demonstrators that I would like to share is using the DSP as your column which you build your card from.
