APRIL SUITE OF THE MONTH-SAND & SEA

April is here and has brought some interesting weather with it so far. Shorter days and more rain tells us winter is on its way. So for this month I have chosen the Sand & Sea suite to help us reminisce on those summer days which have just passed us by.

This month I am concentrating on fun folds. For this first card I have chosen this triple fold with bellyband to hold the card closed. This is the perfect fold to show off your Designer Series Paper. There are so many beautiful patterns in the Sand & Sea DSP using beautiful subtle colours of Blushing Bride, Flirty Flamingo, Melon Mambo, Sahara Sand, Seaside Spray and So Saffron.

To make this card you will need Sahara Sand card base cut to 5 7/8" x 11 5/8", scored at 1 3/8", 5 1/2" & 9 5/16". With the left over piece you can cut your bellyband at 2 3/8" x 9", scored at 2 3/4" & 6 7/8". Cut 3 pieces of DSP all 5 5/8 in length at 1 1/4", 2 1/8" and 3 1/2". You will also need an inside panel of Sahara Sand cut at 3 7/8" x 5 5/8". When folding the card base, fold the middle scored line in half, then fold on the other two score lines in the opposite direction. Adhere the 3 pieces of DSP to the panels you have just created, this is where you can show off both sides of the beautiful DSP. When folding the bellyband and adhering make sure you are doing this while its wrapped around the card. Also make sure to not make it too tight so its still able to be removed and reattached.

To decorate the inside of the card I have stamped seashells in the corner of the card using the Friends are like Seashells stamp set. I have used Blushing Bride, So Saffron and Seaside Spray for the seashells and Sahara Sand for the sand. For the sentiment I have used Flirty Flamingo.

To decorate the bellyband I have cut a piece of the Pearlescent Specialty Paper at 4" x 2 1/8" and embossed it using the Seashells 3D embossing folder. Then using a piece of So Saffron I have stamped the sentiment in So Saffron and die cut this using the retiring Stitched Nested Label Dies. To finish it off I have added a little bling by using the Opal Rounds which are part of the suite.
