I am so excited to tell you about my first Hamilton Extravaganza experience as a teacher. I have attended many as a participant but yesterday was the first time that I have been a teacher. For this card I took inspiration from Priscilla Stamps.
I really look the shaker card and have always thought it was really hard but it isn't once you know the concept. The Ice Cream Corner suite is perfect for any type of shaker card because the Ice Cream Sprinkles are already part of the suite.
For this card I have used two designs of the Ice Cream Corner Designer Series Paper, one at 3 7/8 x 5 5/8' and one at 2 5/8 x 4'. The smaller piece is the background for the window of your shaker element. You will also need a window sheet at 2 5/8 x 4'. You will also need to cut a frame for the shaker element using 2 3/4 x 4 1/8 and 2 3 1/4 Rectangle Stitched Dies. I have used Old Olive and Purple Posy.
To assemble the card you will need a cardbase at 5 7/8 x 8 1/4' scored at 4 1/8'. I have used Blackberry Bliss and Bermuda Bay. Then two pieces (one for the front and one for the inside of the card) at 4 x 5 3/4', I have used Petal Pink and Soft Sea Foam. Layer the larger DSP layer on top of your coloured cardstock. Then adhere your smaller piece of DSP to your card to start building your shaker element. Adhere your window sheet to the inside of your frame and add adhesive strips around the frame edge. Then place your sprinkles on your card, I have used a 1/4 tsp, and adhere your frame on top of the sprinkles.
Decorate the window by stamping the Ice Cream image from the Sweet Ice Cream stamp set and punch this out with the Ice Cream Cone builder punch. I have used Petal Pink and Soft Sea Foam for the Ice Cream and Cinnamon Cider for the cone. Add some extra sprinkles to the Ice Cream once adhered to the window.
And this is what the inside looks like....
I have decorated the inside of the card by stamping the Ice Cream image again and adding a sentiment.
